 WEIGHTS  AND  MEASURES

 

     Spoons & Cups Equivalent
             
  2 Teaspoon (tsp) = 1 dessert spoon = 10 gms  
  3 Teaspoon (tsp) = 1 table spoon = 15 gms  
  2 Tablespoon (tbsp) = 1 ounce = 25 gms  
  1/2 Cup = 4 ounces = 100 gms  
  1 Cup = 8 ounces = 225 gms  
  2 Cups = 16 ounces ( 1 lb ) = 450 gms  
  4 1/2 Cups = 35 ounces ( 2 1/2 lb ) = 1000 gms  
             

     Tablespoons & Ounce Equivalent

             
 

If you do not have scales, the following are roughly

equivalent to 1 ounce:

 

          Grated cheese and sifted flour = 4 level tbsp.

          Cocoa, corn flour, custard powder & semolina = 3 level tbsp

          Fat, margarine & sugar = 2 level tbsp

          Jam, syrup & honey = 1 level tbsp
